I really believe the mileage indicator reveals two other conditions.one is if you are headed driving against a headwind and possibly then when an extra load is present your tires may need a boost in pressure inflation. Also for indications of sudden excessive mileage drop off, maybe a speed change is in order temporarily,to seek for any benefit for an economy correction. If that indicator is giving extreemly different readings from what would be normal, then maybe one could consider something serious is at fault > brake drag,C..convertor overheating, bad fuel, mashed tail-pipe,etc. going unnoticed.Mainly driving too fast for the vehicles aerodynamics of your vehicle to get the best fuel mileage in high gear.

Yes but it really doesn't tell you any more than you'd know just from your driving habits and how hard you're making the car work.

yes, my new 2013 honda fit has one. I am in the process of verifying the accuracy since I record every tank of gas and compute the mpg.

Ask yourself, are you learning any progress with right foot control by watching, glancing at the instant mpg. indicator when intending to save fuel, gain mileage with your vehicle.

Ask yourself if you have a better understanding of how and when your increased engine load is requiring more fuel to resume, accellerate,or pull an incline grade, pass another vehicle ,maybe make a jump start to change lanes. Watching the MPG. Indicater can give a clue to how soon you will hit the fill pumps on the next visit.

Those readings help, but the right foot control is about the training, the driver/traffic. Yes ones Mood plays a big part also... I love my Indicator.

Yes, I have a 2004 Tahoe with a performance computer. It indicates mpg, gallons burned, and miles to go before gasoline is require. The mpg computer indicates instantaneous mpg and average mpg.

My vehicle with two aboard real often reads in the 41-44 mpg range on calm level driving days. Sometimes a little higher with the cruise off, running the tires 2-3# more pressure to the hot max.
I haven't checked the fill-up pencil calculations against the total mileage.Seems the read-out is close, smaller tank capacity than the other vehicles, but that pans out on cost to fill-up. Happy 80%

From the factory, 2 do not, 1 does. Added a Edge Evo to 1 and my '08 F150 now has it along with being able to monitor a bunch of other things. Really nice to be able to see actual engine temp and trans temp when towing.
