I'm staying. Don't worry about that. I say things I don't mean when I'm upset. The reason I don't update gas prices as often as I should/could is because I don't drive. I rely on others, and sometimes I can't get people or even a cab to take me to where I need to go. I know, I didn't need to tell anyone that, but I felt like it.

markdrossi, I hope you choose to stay. It's true that there's a handful of people who have a tendency to give out the same non-helpful answers to nearly all questions, but they're in the minority, and it's fairly easy to learn to not take them too seriously.

Actually, mark, when I go to a new site I look around and get the lay of the land, try all the links, do a search (if possible), check out the forums (if available. If I like the site I will visit often and see how things work. I don't do directly to "I can't find (fill in the blank). Help me."
So to answer your question, mark, no that is not how I do everything in life. I try to figure things out before I start asking questions. And I have never, on any web site, put anyone on ignore. Too 3rd grade.

Some people start an account, go dormant and start contributing on a regular basis at a later time. I'm pretty sure jrsva is an example. I think we all think very highly of jrsva's contributions and opinions.
I see know reason to be attacking this OP. He seems to be asking a perfectly reasonable question. Perhaps he will contribute on a more frequent basis. Finding where the FSL is located on the website is an indication that he may well do so. Its not like he is asking for more points, more prizes or making claims to be contributing more than he has. He simply had a reasonable question, but some people here are extremely judgmental and act like a gang of thugs.
To the OP, most of us do not behave that way. Stick around and you will quickly figure out who the few are to take with a boulder of salt.

So is that how you do everything else in life? You find something and then if another person asks how to found it you say "find it yourself!"? Not very nice. Instead of being helpful, you decide to be a condescending ass instead. I see. I was bullied in school and I see that it's followed me here many, many, many years later. How very nice.

This site isn't a competition. The question you are asking, markdrossi, could be easily found if you spent some time looking for them like most of us have already done.

I wasn't referring to you maxstar. I'm referring to the first answer or two I got.

Asking you to contributing to the site is not being snobby or cocky. I think that it is the fair thing to do.

I believe I'll be closing my account because I don't see anywhere on the site where it says we're in a competition here. I'm getting sick and tired of asking a simple and honest question and getting a snobby, cocky answer. That shouldn't be happening. But it does and I guess those people feel good about themselves sitting behind a keyboard and saying things that they wouldn't say to a person's face. It's been real everyone, but this isn't what I signed up for. I enjoy updating prices when I can, but keeping up with the Jones's isn't what I'm here to do. Thanks!

markdrossi: Don't be so dramatic. I agree with scoutmaster. The prices you see are because of the efforts of other members. As a member you should give an effort to contribute something to the site by updating gas prices more often. You have been a member for nine months and have a point total that many members earn in under one month.

He isn't being helpful. Expressing frustration with someone who is inexperienced is self serving. Ask yourself this, did he actually answer the question?

It's not that scoutmaster isn't being helpful. kwzh wrote, in essence, "Do this...and then if that doesn't work, clarify what you did and give us more information." Scoutmaster is simply expressing frustration that, as a long time member, with regular participation or looking around you'd likely have encountered the answer., you haven't
Different ways of providing assistance.
But that's just my opinion.

Considering you have been a member for 9 months and earned less than 10% of your possible points, markdrossi, if you participated on a daily basis, you would know the answer to this and other simple site questions. May I suggest you look around the site before asking again?

On the main page, just below the price listings, is a "Members Area", and just below that is the "Favorite Stations" area. If this doesn't answer your question, please clarify. If this description doesn't match what you see, take a screen shot. (You can't post images here, but you could upload to imagebin.org and give us the resulting link.)
