Why is the price of gas $1.78 in upper Michigan where they have to truck in everything and $2.20 in Palatka, Fl? Doesn't make sense does it?

We need to actually make some noise about these gas prices and we need to actually do something!!!! Everyone is just passively buying more and more gas...in my country the folks would have already hit the streets!!!!

Gas prices in Arcadia, FL are always much more expensive than they are here in Port Charlotte, and the two places are only about 20 - 25 miles apart.

In the Keys, prices vary in that in Islamorada the price will be $.30-$.40 per gallon less that in Key West. That is only about 85 miles apart.

How is it that the prices can vary by almost 20 cents within a few miles?

Some blame it on Florida being a tourist destination.

There is always some reason, so the oil companies would have us beleive, for the escalating prices but it all boils down to one word, GREED!

Prices just jumped up to 2.12 from 2.07 yesterday! I agree with Senile1, they are just trying to confuse the average driver, especially when last Thursday, prices were 1.99 at many stations.

I've noticed that here too, KO, some stations will go up 2 or 3 cents then drop a couple of cents then go up 4 or 5 in a couple of days---perhaps to confuse the average, unobservant driver (not hard to do).......

Florida prices do not change as rapidly on the down slope as the up.
