The stations that carry the biodiesel, I thought the whole idea was to make the fuel cheeper but I'm finding, going green is more expensive!
Does anyone know why this is?

Oh, on the "going green" idea, I should also mention that I do believe in taking care of the environment by being practical, thrifty, prudent, non-wasteful, conscientious, intelligent, etc. Our parents, grandparents and earlier generations could tell you that it is not a new concept, by any means. The new and perverted concept is to pay lots more for impractical, wasteful, etc., ideas simply because some snake oil salesman has convinced you to give them your money on their purported "moral" grounds. It's just another new mega-church, or should I say mega-corporation. Ironic to say the least.

The only reason anyone can afford to produce the alternative energy sources is because they are subsidized by taxpayer dollars. Otherwise, they are simply not cheap enough to produce and sell at a price similar to the oil-based fuels.

Some (such as our current President and his party) argue that gas prices need to be much higher so that other energy sources can be competitive. (I guess they've been golfing so much that they think it is logical to add a handicap to oil products, forgetting that their brilliant idea is coming directly out of the people's pockets.)

Those that understand capitalism, on the other hand, want the most viable and economical solutions as opposed to the most idealistic ones. As the supply of oil truly does diminish, the price will rise and other sources of energy will then become more feasible, but rushing the process is like jacking the price of city water to make the bottled stuff at the store seem more affordable.

Most of the "going green" ideas are more about who you give your money to, than whether it is actually better for the environment. The curly florescent light bulbs are a perfect example. They are actually much worse for the environment, when you look at the whole picture, yet they are now mandated via the "going green" farce.

This sounds like it should have gone in "General Gas Talk" rather than "Suggest A Web Site Improvement".
