Folks with 100,000 points to qualify
Allow folks to set up "formal" meet up forums to exchange business referrals.

I live in Northern VA and would love to get a realtor, insurance person, mortgage lender, and others together in an "informal" business networking arrangement on this platform. Since I am an independent pest control guy, I have no overhead and can beat most prices from the big pc firms. If anyone is interested email me at nomorebugs@flyingtigerspestcontrol.com or contact me via this site.

This kind of thing would be local in nature (unless you are willing to go to, say, Alaska to kill termites), so your best bet would be post a [insert name of site here] Business Networking Topic in the local discussion category on every site (state or city) in whose area you are willing to participate.

As mentioned below, you would want to carefully plan the wording of your original post for two reasons: 1) once you hit submit, it is written in stone and 2) you will want to steer the tone towards spreading helpfulness rather than expressing crass commercialism (which is usually to be avoided by most readers). Write it out using an editor and let it simmer in your brain overnight before posting.

Try to set up some simple rules as to how each participant will list his services so that it doesn't turn into paragraphs of sales pitches.

Have you looked at your GB classified ads on the Local tab? (When I click it, the library security software says it's a parked domain and blocks it. I wonder why.)

Nothing precludes you, FlyingTigersPC, from starting a topic in Off Topic, perhaps titled "Northern Virginia businessman looking to start informal business networking group..."
Then, in your first post, explain what it is that you're looking to do, and either see if the thread develops it's own life, or suggest that you form an e-mail collective to discuss your interests. Offer to be the group moderator, and either provide your e-mail address or start a new e-mail address, to enable others who are interested, to contact you so that you can start the group. Or, start a Facebook or other social media group.

But, remember, that there is no "advertising" in the Gas Buddy discussion categories, and by telling people that "I do this for a living, I can beat the other guy's prices, etc." makes it sound as if you're advertising your products or services, whether that's what your intent was or was not.

Hello FlyingTigersPC. You may want to try LinkedIn as your platform for business networking. I have not used it much, but I think it may work for you.

I was not trying to advertise but to get folks to participate in the site.

The ad section accessed off this site is free and I have an ad there.
