I just got back from a trip acroSS Lake Michigan on the SS Badger from Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Ludington, Michigan. After going through Chicago on the way to Wisconsin, I would have paid much more than what I did to ride the ferry. There is another outlet that just started this year that runs service between Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Muskegon, Michigan. The trips take 4 hours and 2.5 hours respectively. Anybody going to or from Michigan's lower peninsula to points Northwest should seriously consider this alternative.
