Diet is a 4-letter word.

The Abs Diet is a revolutionary new way of eating, similar to that of a bodybuilder or elite athlete. It is a 6-times-a-day eating plan that will never let you get hungry, and if you're ever hungry, well, then you're not on the Abs Diet.

Stay lean, not hungry. Eat more, and weigh less. Enjoy more and better sex. Have a pain-free and injury-proof life. See your abs. Turn fat into muscle. Take back control of your life, and your body.

Eat almonds and other nuts. Eat beans and legumes. Eat spinach and other green vegetables. Eat/drink dairy. Eat instant oatmeal. Eat eggs. Eat turkey and other lean meats. Eat peanut butter. Use olive oil. Eat whole-grain breads and cereals. Use extra-protein/whey powder. Eat raspberries and other berries. (ABS DIET POWER)

Avoid, as much as possible, high fructose corn syrup, and trans fats or hydrogenated/partially hydrogenated oils. High fructose corn syrup is an over-used food additive that is added to most of the foods we eat, and we don't even know it. It's screwing up our metabolic systems. When you eat any type of carbohydrate, your body releases insulin to regulate your body weight, as well as suppressing your appetite. The problem with HFCS is that id doesn't stimulate insulin, so your body doesn't register it the way it does other sugars. That's why it's possible to see people drink 2-liter bottles of soft drinks in a single sitting. HFCS makes the same number of calories go down, and still leaves you hungry for more, as your body's appetite suppression switch doesn't activate. Your muscles still need more energy, so you eat more food and sweets, and the cycle continues. Trans fat is created by combining vegetable oil with hydrogen. Once infused with hydrogen, liquid vegetable oil turns into a solid at room temperature (crisco or margarine). Restaurants love it because it's cheap, it can stick around almost forever without going bad, and it extends the shelf life of most products to keep them crisp and tantalizing. Now, think about what they do when they get inside you. Instead of melting like they would in their natural state, they try to revert back to their waxy, solid nature. Heart disease and stroke are caused, in part, by waxy buildups of fat solids in the circulatory system.

Six steps to lifelong leanness:
1. Eat six meals/snacks a day.
2. Revolve your eating around the ABS DIET POWER (listed above).
3. Drink healthy smoothies regularly.
4. Stop counting (calories, etc).
5. Watch what (and how much) you drink.
6. Cheat (one meal each week, and plan ahead what you'll have!)I CHALLENGE YOU TO MAKE THE CHANGES IN YOUR LIVES TO BECOME HEALTHIER, ENJOY BETTER LIVES, AND CONTINUE TO BE THE WONDERFUL PEOPLE HERE IN THESE FORUMS THAT YOU ARE. coming off being sick AND ttotm, so am starting up again...191.0 this morning

that's good, because that means I basically held steady while sick, and although I gained temporarily due to sodium in soups, etc, I didn't actually gain!

193 this morning. I think that, between the stress eating from the nervousness before Court this morning, TTOTM, and being sick, I just am not doing well at all. I'm trying to eat to get well, but to do that is not part of the program I'm on. Can't just eat soup, ya know?

I made tuna salad for tomorrow - I only put in tuna, pickles (and some of the juice) and egg whites. I love it! I don't like mayo. I make egg salad for hubby and cut the egg whites off the ends of his eggs to put in tuna.

Packing a lunch is the easiest way to make sure that you know exactly what you're putting into your body.

Yesterday was not such a good day for me. With being as sick as I am, I'm really hanging onto every calorie and fat gram I take in...very little is coming out. :(

UGH! It was just plain nasty. I should have gone to Tim Horton's for soup or something. There isn't much to choose from near work - so I pack.

Didn't get around to packing a lunch so I ate a fast food cheeseburger. Ugh. I feel awful! If you stay away from the junk, eventually you don't want it.

Down to 191.4 this morning. Not been feeling well the past couple of days, and have a really nasty cough and sore throat, as well as a sinus infection. Have meds, so will do my best to stay on plan today.

No change in weight today. Yesterday was immensely stressful, so wasn't on plan for 1/2 the day. Did well the other 1/2, though.

Boy, you sure were up early for a Saturday morning! I just got done w/ my paper route, and am going to nap for a little bit, before getting up to get my nails done (can't do them by myself anymore).

Will be stopping back in a bit, once I've weighed in for the day.

Yes, but you have to remember that you have to live life. Although we're on "diets," the actual word is dead to me. I prefer a "lifestyle change." Eventually, we have to get to where we're just making good choices, not stuffing ourselves w/ bad stuff. An occasional meal isn't a bad thing for us, as long as we don't make it a habit.

0.4 gain yesterday to 192.2. Fine. Not all days can be losses. Didn't stick to plan yesterday, so back on track today.

Day 3 went well, but only 0.2 loss. I'm okay w/ it, though, since it's still in the right direction, and ya can't figure a lb a day forever! :)

Day 3 went well. Looking forward to weighing in in about 1/2 hr. Stayed on plan, but substituted some low-sodium, low-fat chicken soup for the chicken breast I was going to have, as I'm not feeling well.

I remember when you froze those blueberries! :)

Things are going well. I didn't quite finish all the foods I was scheduled to eat yesterday, but I wasn't hungry, so didn't feel bad that I didn't finish them all.

Day 2 of total focus has allowed me to state that I've lost yet another lb...weighed in this morning down to 192.0...so that makes 2 lbs in 2 days.

I'm not sticking to it as well as I should. Produce is so pricey right now - sure glad we froze 20 pounds of blueberries last summer!

Only missed eating a couple of things yesterday, so it was a good day. Stayed on track all day, and wasn't hungry when I went to sleep, so that's why I didn't finish all my food.

Today I'll be paying my missed Y payment, so I'll start back this evening, finally. Can't wait. Have actually missed it terribly.

On plan so far, but it's only 9:15 in the morning! LOL! I have food with me, so even w/ getting super-busy today, I should have everything under control that way.

On plan so far. I always do better when I plan my meals ahead of time.

Have to run, in a little while, to get a small bottle of milk and an banana. Needed them today, and forgot while on the way to work.
