43.60 . They have not recovered since the spill. But they didn't go to jail. So It's not a total loss.

No, they have to much money and backing across the world. They should be punished harder financially, but they will get away with it, just a few billions in fines and they make ten times that in a year.

Yup, BP is still around and its stock has been holding quite steady.
I've mused about buying some of it since it is got a lower P/E than its peers, a nice dividend, and possible upside since it will gain if the whole industry gains.
Of course, it has the stinky cloud of all of the lawsuits weighing it down, too. But, I doubt it will file for bankruptcy.

I do not think it is done yet. It appears to survive well with higher prices, necessary to pay legal expenses, keep its shareholders happy, and make profit.

BP stock was $59.88 shortly after Deepwater Horizon blew.
BP stock went as low as $26.75 (on June 28th).
BP stock closed today at $36.24 on a day that was very bad for stocks.

We'll see how they do with the Amoco alumnus in the CEO spot.
Maybe after they get the well plugged they can change to the relatively untainted Amoco brand name.
Amoco didn't have explosions every few months at the Texas City Refinery, unlike BP.

BP is looking to sell half of their interest in Prudhoe Bay. IIRC, a price that's been mentioned is $11 billion.

Their stocks were actually going up a while back, even though they are trying to get backing. Amazing how gouging big business works.

BP has a long way to go before they run out of money.
If it's as much as a hundred billion dollars, that's ten years of dividends.

No, they will suffer for a while, (financially and reputation wise)but it will business as usual after this episode.
