"Things are definitely worse than under the old regime," said Gamal Eid, of the Arabic Human Rights Initiative. "It is because of the Islamists having power – their sense that they have won."

For Egypt, the circle is now complete.
One dictator was overthrown, and now the democratically elected leader has become just another dictator.
Egypt's Islamist Coup: The Muslim Brotherhood's man claims more power than Mubarak had
"The Egyptian revolution took another bad turn Thursday, as President Mohamed Morsi gave himself dictatorial powers over the legislature and courts. The world has feared that the Muslim Brotherhood would favor one-man, one-vote, once, and the Morsi coup is an ominous sign."

Parallel Betrayals: Iranian Revolution and Arab Spring
"While today it is standard to think of the 1979 Iranian revolution as a purely Islamic affair, in fact, many of the revolutionaries were secular, liberal, Marxist, non-Muslim, etc. The one goal that glued them altogether was the desire to overthrow the autocratic Shah. Many of these Iranians did not want an Islamic government, certainly not a theocracy. And indeed, not just the Ayatollah Taleghani, but the Ayatollah Khomeini himself played down Sharia's draconian role to mobilize all these divergent segments of society—until he was fully entrenched in power, that is." "In short, the Iranian Revolution began as a heterodox affair, with different revolutionary factions and different ideological agendas, but it ended with the rise of a totalitarian Islamic republic."
"Sound familiar? This is precisely what is happening today in Egypt..."

>>Russia is sending attack helicopters to Syria.<<
No surprise there. The Russian 'Spring' of the 1990's didn't work out any better than the Arab Spring of today.

News item: Hillary Clinton charges that Russia is sending attack helicopters to Syria.
That should help the situation immensely.

Graphic Video: Muslims Slaughter Convert to Christianity in Tunisia
->Liberal talk show host Tawfiq Okasha recently appeared on "Egypt Today" airing a video of Muslims slicing a young man's head off for the crime of apostasy, in this case, the crime of converting to Christianity and refusing to renounce it. The video—be warned, it is immensely graphic—is embedded here (the actual execution appears from minute 1:13-4:00).

Tunisia: revolution betrayed
"One year ago people in Tunisia demonstrated to ask for social and economic reforms and for more freedom, not for another government that tells us how to be good Muslims."

The terrifying truth behind the so-called Arab Spring
"...much of the uplifting narrative about the Arab Spring was based on wishful thinking in the West..."
"And the Islamists, with all their cunning, will exploit the moment to gain supreme power..."

Arab Spring's Anti-Semitism
"There is another truth, however, that shouldn’t be denied. The desire of Arabs to be free of their spiteful and pitiless dictators is sometimes expressed in grotesquely anti-Jewish terms."

Ruthless men hide behind veil of religion
"Revolutions are known to devour their children, and popular uprisings driven by the promise of change for the better have been notorious for turning into nightmares."
"The so-called Arab Spring is another dark night unfolding across the Middle East."

Arab Spring leads to Sharia autumn
"They call it the Arab spring, but these days it’s looking more and more like a fall backwards. Tunisia has elected an Islamist party to lead a new coalition government. In Egypt, Coptic Christians have been targeted and killed, while a Muslim man recently received a three-year sentence for mocking Islam on his Facebook page. And in his first major address to the Libyan people, the interim head of state, former Ghaddafi justice minister Mustafa Abdul Jalil, declared that Sharia law will be the basis of the country’s new constitution."

Tunisia Islamists set for big election gains
"Many fear that despite vows to uphold democracy, Tunisia's Islamist Ennahda Party is bent on imposing a theocracy that would roll back hard-won secularism and women's rights."

Nearly 93,000 Coptic Christians have left Egypt since March 19
"Gabriel attributed the Coptic emigration to hardline Salafi groups seeking to apply Islamic law, deny Copts senior government posts, and reduce incoming tourism. He also blamed attacks on Coptic churches and the government's failure to bring attackers to justice."

This might help explain things:
Egyptians paid to storm Israeli embassy in Cairo
"Participants may have been paid 5,000-11,000 pounds to "go to the embassy and create chaos," Egyptian newspaper reports."

Sorry to see that Tunisia is going to continue to follow an anti-semitic policy. In Egypt, did everyone catch that rioting over the slow change of government ended in the ransacking of the Israeli embassy in Cairo? Now what was that about? What does Israel have ANYTHING to do with Egypt's government nor the change in government. Just how stupid is the average Arab? Or are their medias that biased?

I've been worried that the "Arab Spring" would just result in new dictators.

Likelihood of regional war growing
"It looks like the Arab Spring, but it can also be a radical Islamic winter."
"This leads us to the conclusion that through a long-term process, the likelihood of an all-out war is increasingly growing"
