Government has control over our pocketbooks, spend like crazy and steal it out of us. Good intentions will cost us dearly.

Straz: "I guess I will take a bus"...I think that's just what they want you to do. I wouldn't mind, except for the fact that when I drive to work, it takes 20 minutes. When I take the bus, I can get there, but with transfers it takes just over three hours. I can't afford a six hour commute.

I see "tax and spend" being chanted on this blog. In Florida, we pay some of the highest prices for fuel in the United States. Every step along the way in government it is populated by a Republican majority- County Commission, State Legislature and Governor, and U.S. House of Representatives.
What happened to all of the hypocrites in politics who preach that Grover Norquist is some kind of tax messiah? Everybody talks low taxes, but, where? Floridians taxes have increased for fuel, the cost of auto insurance has risen dramatically, vehicle registration and driver license fees have doubled.
Somebody please tell me why the Republicans in control are taxing and spending us to the poor house. They say one thing and do another.

Where in the hell does all that money go...? AND the tolls that rake in millions??? i.e. I35 in Kansas. I remember in the early '90s there was talk about doing away with that toll due to the money it reaped had paid off the original program/intent... And it is still there raking in $$$. Like pigs to a slaughter!

Here in CA we are honored to pay a cool 69 cents a gallon total tax. A skim off the top.

Rediculous, And most have wasted the money they collected in the past by not putting it back into roads and bridges as was intended.
