Minnesota wins, by a long shot. Prices there today are 24c/gal lower than a year ago (today $3.66, year ago $3.90)
Ohio comes in second, with prices today averaging 17c/gal lower than a year ago (today $3.69, year ago $3.86)
Michigan comes in third, with prices averaging 16c/gal lower than a year ago (today $3.81, year ago $3.97)

Other states where prices today are lower than a year ago:
Nebraska, 14c/gal lower today than last year

That's great for the 38%; but must suck to be the other 62%. For that matter, based on all the news of continued oil discoveries and surplus of gas, it sucks for all of us to be paying gas prices that are too high for all.

OMG, I'm in a 'loser' state! Fuel prices are higher by 16 cents/gallon. The Cherry Point, WA refinery fire earlier this year helped boost fuel prices and prices have been very very slow to come down since the refinery started producing and distributing fuel again. BUT, the price of fuel at the pump is still too high! Go back 4 years and compare the price of fuel at the pump and it is much HIGHER than necessary! This article is NOT very accurate with its very short time span comparison. Almost everything is costing more and Barry's so-called economic recovery has Not happened yet because of those high fuel prices.
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible!
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

I don't have data for last year, but in 2010 at this time of year, gas was $2.90/gal., I'd say it's a bit higher now.

A lot of bouncing up and down a year ago. My records show a three week period where it was higher, but it was lower before and after that period.
