Glad you are skipping Spain, China is a much better choice. When we went before the Olympics I was free to take photos, travel the trains and walk around independently. Please let me know if things have changed. -- Was in Venezuela in early 2000, just after the massive floods; Flew to Caracas and then a bus/ferry to Isla Margarita. Massive destruction detours and landslides. – Went to Panama and Costa Rica in 2008. It is amazing to see the ships rise and lower in the locks. – Since the children graduated 10+ years ago we try to take two trips a year. Before traveling the world we fully explored the USA and I agree with you, we live in the greatest nation in the world. Again, have a happy and safe 4th.
