I remember driving 70 mph in Illinois when I was a teen. I hope their roads are well maintained.

This will usually reduce accidents as drivers become less frustrated but speeders will still provide lots of ticket revenue.

I tried driving 70mph on that stretch of road more than once, and got passed by every other car out there. The speed limit is honored mostly in the breach.

The higher speed limit moves more vehicles is a given time. Puts off building more lanes, but eventually will mean widening construction.

This is a couple days old now.. 70 mph is insulting! Should raise to 75 on tollways... Get with the program, Illinois. Look at Texas's example.
