Don't leave during holidays. Hate to drive on over crowded roads especially during holidays when all the drunks seem to try to drive and get away with it.

Given a 7-1/2% per year decline in US dollar purchasing power since 2007, it's a wonder anyone can still afford to work; let alone travel.

I did not leave town. I generally like to travel on non-holidays. I fly if the distance is more than a few hundred miles most of the time. It is cheaper with only two people if you get the cheaper fares.

I don't travel during national holidays. Its bad enough to travel on weekends when the freaks are on the road ! After retirement my life changed ! I only schedule travel on week days and do most of my shopping early on week days, to avoid the insanity on the road today.

When traveling, I always travel to and from the destination on the week days. Normally a Tuesday thru Thursday !I also don't go BOATING on the week end ! I only fish on the week days when there are only a few boats on the bay !!

AHHHHH PIECE AND QUIET, one great aspect of RETIREMENT !!

Didn't leave town. Why fight the traffic and pay the jacked up holiday gas prices.
It doesn't have to be a holiday weekend for me to have a good time somewhere.
