Yes, just about a month ago...had friends following and they were trying to tell me. Thankfully, it was just a short distance to the restaurant.

Happens when shopping at night because of the bright lights of shopping center parking lots.

As soon a I pull out from the bright lights, I am reminded to switch on the car lights.

ə i do this between two and six times a year on average in the city, where the streetlights make it easy to overlook that i have not activated them, but i seldom get very far before realizing it.
two days ago, i failed to switch them on at dusk, but noticed fairly soon thereafter. ə

I've done it within the last month - had my older car and then caught myself within a mile or two - was driving the car with running lights - which don't help from the rear of the car.

Last time I did it with the newer car I have I was pulling out of a gas station driveway into the street went about 5 feet to the stop light and noticed my lights weren't on . . . had also seen the police car with parking lights on parked in a parking lot . . . he had seen me too, because he put his lights on and pulled me over once I got around the corner from the stop light - I had made a legal turn.

I got a warning >> he approached the car asking if I knew why I'd been pulled over . . . and then ran my license the whole 9 yards - it was about 10:45 pm and I was on my way some where - this made me late / / / had not been drinking / / / guess he thought even though I caught myself with the lights he wanted to make an impression.

Not me but just had one on the interstate last night from dusk till about 30 minutes later. People (including myself) were flashing lights, honking horns, etc. to try and get the yeahoo's attention. At one point I had my flashlight out the window trying the signal the person but they just kept on flying down the left lane. Finally a trucker blasted him with horns and high beams before they finally woke up and turned their lights on.

I've done it once or twice for a very short distance. If I don't catch it myself, other motorists sure let me know. I know for sure that if cops see you with your lights off, and it is after sunset; they sure are prone to stopping that vehicle. Somehow they have the mind that if you drive like that, you are hiding something and they will go to any length to find it.
It is now state law in Kansas that we have our lights on when it is foggy, raining, or snowing. I know it helps me see the other motorist a lot better. However those extreme halogen lights, the ones that give off the blue hue, irritate me to the point of near road rage! [But, I won't act on that impulse.]

No, check my instrument panel frequently and if it's dark, I can't see it.

Of course doesn't everybody? I also drive with no lights on in the rain and I have a grey car. Why should I use my lights in the daytime when it's raining, they don't help me.

Oh wait they help the rest of the cars see me!!! Duh how could I forget!

Although, I do notice those that think their automatic lights are on. When in fact it's just their day time running lights on. Running down the road with no marker lights on.

No, but I see plenty of drivers leave those gas stations with 100,000 candle power lighting systems and drivers simply forget that the artificial daylight ends when they pull out of the driveway.

Oh come on people, here in the city I always see people with their lights off, totally oblivious to the fact.

If you live in te city and don't have automatic lights, choose one level worse then you think you are.

Snitgrok, while DRL's do not activate your tail lights, automatic lights DO activate them.
