Don't most stations set their price early in the morning and then keep it that way for the rest of the day? Maybe the gas stations should invest in some digital signs so they can change the price by the minute!
I would think the usefulness of the price depends more on how early in the day it is posted than the time from when it was spotted.

I try and post as soon as I get home. That way the prices are current. Who wants an old price posted? I hate prices that are not current.

Less than one hour! I never post a price that is more than 5 minutes old.

I'm really impressed with the turn around time after posting the prices. Y'all are doing a good job!

I have a laptop in my taxi so I'm able to do so right away. If I'm driving the length of a street with several stations on my favorites list, than I will flll in the prices as I pass them, and hit update just once for all.

This just varies from time to time...and NOT because I am too lazy to post them immediately either.

See, for me, I deliver pizza for a living right now. It is not hard for me see between 15-20 stations a day. If I take a delivery to the Best Western, then I will pass by a Pilot, a Hess, and an Exxon, as well as a Sun and a Texaco within viewing distance. If I take that delivery at 5:30pm, and I close, then it may be as late as 2:30am before I get to somewhere that I can get on a computer. If I dont close, then it is sooner. If it is the last run of my work day, then it could be posted within 1 hour from the time that it is noted.

While I am doing my job, if a price change is noticed from the initial recording of the information, notation of that change is made as well.

As for ensuring quality reporting, most of the prices do not change that frequently at this time (although I have seen them do it before), usually just once a day, and different stores change at different times (a number of stores in my delivery area change their prices overnight AFTER closing for the day), others almost always change in the morning at, or before opening.

So for me, while all but the RARE occassion, it is within an hour of getting to the computer, but as to when the price is noted, well that can vary wildly depending on when I am delivering to where.

I usually write them down on my way out, then check them on the way home. I enter them as soon as I get home so they are usually as current as I can get.

I usually check them on my way home ... so when I get home I try and post them with in the hour ... I think it is important to do it quickly ... that way it is up to date.

3-4 hours is good for me just in case I have things to do around the house or places to go before I can get to the pump.

I post them with in an hour. We all need to stop buying gas for one or two day to show them were pissed off about the price.
