We have GPS in smartphones. But, if you are going to a remote area with no internet available, you need a map to get out of that place.

Why use a map if you can get turn-by-turn instructions from your car? Maps seem a little old fashioned now.

Don't like the built in navigation on my car. Restricted from searching anything unless the car is stopped. I know that's a safety factor but mobile phones are less safe to maneuver for directions.

Now if the cars were only smart enough to watch out for when the driver was distracted. Too many things to distract drivers these days.

I just let Google navigation vocalize every turn for free. No need to look at anything.

Should be a plug-in module in glove box. Unplug and update online then plug back in to glove box - not everyone wants or needs a smartphone. So far Garmin is the best navigator that I have used.

Electronics are getting less expensive (Technology marches on!).
Although I'm not sure in dash screens are a good thing. Strikes me as an invitation to distracted driving.

The cheaper the navigation system the more incorrect and wrong turns it will give you plus you get poor quality.
