County approves Keystone Agreement

Sapulpa Daily Herald -- Monday the Board of Creek County Commissioners had no difficulty in approving a District 3 Area Haul Route Agreement with TransCanada Keystone Pipeline, LLC., in preparation of the new pipeline.

“This agreement ensures that the trucks going to Lincoln County along 311th Street, that we will be re-imbursed for damages that will be done to our roads in District 3,” Commissioner Danny Gann said.

The deal will allow the firm to haul heavy 60,000 pound truck loads of 36 inch steel pipe through and along the southwest corner of the county into Lincoln County to expand oil transfer routes to the nation’s pipeline nexus of Cushing Okla.

Normal deal by counties whether approving wind farm construction or pipelines.

I think having the large number of heavy trucks must be an issue. You know the lawyers negotiated this because they'll have to go back to court to decide what the damages are.

And re: wind I found this link. http://www.wind-watch.org/faq-size.php.
A basic turbine hub is 56 tons. If that is transported in one piece it is almost twice a truck of pipe. I really hope a wind tower is transported in separate pieces. The blades are lighter than the hub, and the load is more spread out.

True, and I have often wondered where's the whining about road damages from the colossal rigs carrying wind turbines???

Trucks of that weight travel on roads everywhere. Sounds like that county is being an economic leach.

I thought they did this anyway, any company always fixes the roads due to damage. We did when we worked on the REX pipeline from the rockies to Pennsylvania.

Wish they would do that here. The big increase in heavy truck traffic for gas drilling around my house is taking its toll on the roads.

Big oil and gas are up to no good once again taking property without just compensation.
