Dale Earnhardt Jr. Drives Awareness of Clean Coal Power

SurfKY.com -- Recently the coal mining industry has been receiving positive attention because of a very unlikely spokesman. NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., son of 7-time NASCAR Champion Dale Earnhardt Sr.

That is because the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) is now a sponsor in the Nationwide series, which is NASCAR’s version of the minor leagues.

The sponsorship is part of a national advertising campaign between the ACCCE and JR Motorsports, the management company and racing operation owned by Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

The $1.8 billion project was completed on schedule and on budget, the company said. And with one of the nation’s strictest air emissions permits, the plant is among the cleanest in the nation. In addition to coal, the plant will burn biomass and gob, which is waste coal that’s been sitting around Southwest Virginia for decades. It has been touted as a cost-effective way to remove the material from polluted streams.

How much did DEJr get paid to do this? There may be huge coal deposits in the US but putting that much CO2 in the air everyday producing electricity is going to adversely affect the environment. Make electricity from many renewable energy sources – solar, wind, hydro, thermal, tidal and/or nuclear. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

Like in many other things, money will make good people support unworthy causes.

Dale Jr. also races in NASCAR which is sponsored by the ethanol lobby which I don't agree with.
