“Lower-income families are more vulnerable to energy costs than higher-income families because energy represents a larger portion of their household budgets,”
yet many keep buying old gas guzzling patrol cars from the state auction around here.

The solution is simple. Get rid of the administration which is villifying the coal industry.

Yet a lot of these households still opted for the purchase of gas guzzlers once gas prices stabilized a bit. history has taught us that we never learn!

when people have to make choices on food vs gas to get to work food vs heating a home food vs walking or riding a bike due to cost of fuel
I would say there is a huge problem.

This article clearly points out that higher energy prices are hurting half of the people in the USA. But then this group keeps going on blindly with their push for less "carbon" emissions. It's like, "we don't care how much it hurts, we will continue with our agenda".

I thought that natural gas was supposed to be real cheap. Stop putting limits on coal at coal fired generation sites.
The whole game is greed.

Let's see how the media will blame it on Bush. It's ok when Democrats rule.
