Exxon CEO joins suite against Fracking near his house

Wall Street Journal -- As ExxonMobil’s CEO, it’s Rex Tillerson’s job to promote the hydraulic fracturing enabling the recent oil and gas boom, and fight regulatory oversight. The oil company is the biggest natural gas producer in the U.S., relying on the controversial drilling technology to extract it.
The exception is when Tillerson’s $5 million property value might be harmed. Tillerson has joined a lawsuit that cites fracking’s consequences in order to block the construction of a 160-foot water tower next to his and his wife’s Texas home.
The Wall Street Journal reports the tower would supply water to a nearby fracking site, and the plaintiffs argue the project would cause too much noise and traffic from hauling the water from the tower to the drilling site. The water tower, owned by Cross Timbers Water Supply

Initiating a lawsuit on a side technicality is a great way to oppose fracking while promoting it.

For the simpletons that read and believe nothing but the headlines from the drive by media.
Classic example of media bait and switch.

Read the lawsuit. It a has nothing to do with fraccing.

The water supplier lied to the folks buying and building in the neighborhood. The buyers were told repeatedly that the deed restrictions and zoning laws prohibited the 160 foot water tower.

By the way, it is repeated over and over that neither the Tillerson's or the Armey's oppose the water facility as they were told it would be constructed as a low rise facility masked by the woodland area surrounding it.

Read the suit here.

Fracking is safe so long as it is not in Rex Tillerson’s backyard. Such a hypocrite.

Let's hope the bigger he gets, the bigger he falls. Why does this man even exist in today's world? Is he wearing rose-colored glasses or what? Get real man!!

even conservatives can see the hypocrisy in this guy.

I believe that fracking can be done responsibly, but I would never stand on a panel with this guy.
I believe he just does not want the water tower and will do what ever it takes to prevent it.

It's not so much the actual tracking per se but the 160 foot water tower. Mr. Tillerson is quite the moron and proves, once again, that management rises to the level of least competence. Looks like his career path is limitless.
