Jim Prentice advocates for oil pipeline infrastructure across Canada. Gotta' get the oil and fuel to market or its not worth anything. Building a pipeline is the most efficient way to transport the oil to the refinery for processing into fuel. Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

all those supposed jobs? they're job-year figures. Means, for a few years, there MAY be some jobs, but the Gulf Coast deals w/ the extra carbon products (up to 1/3 more in tar sand than regular crude oil) for much longer.

Agree, keep it in Canada. The common folks in the US will get nothing from this. Look what all the new energy finds in the US have done to keep down gas prices.

The issue of bitumen transport by pipeline is so polarizing.

canada needs to start taking care of their business-forget this "third world country in the making"..
they may also need to build fences along the U.S. border to keep illegal americans from flooding their country, when sharia law replaces the constitution here..

Build one to the east and a new refinery - would help reduce prices and increase supply to the northeast US

I hope they choose wisely for the Canadian environment and economy. Spill preparedness is an important component of their plan. As to economic considerations, Canada would find it to their advantage if they did not export any raw materials.
Exporting raw logs, iron ore and other raw materials has accounted for job losses for many Americans and reduced our GDP.
