Oil price drops below $113 a barrel
Tuesday, August 26, 2008
-- Oil prices slumped below US$113 a barrel Tuesday as gains by the U.S. dollar against other major currencies pulled investors away from commodities and outweighed concerns Hurricane Gustav may disrupt oil operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

By midday in Europe, light, sweet crude for October delivery was down US$2.17 to US$112.94 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract rose 52 cents overnight to settle at US$115.11 a barrel.

Look at these three story titles:
1) Oil price drops below....
2) Gasoline prices hold firm.
3) Gas prices rise for first time in three weeks.

Same story, different day! How can anybody write anything when the prices change so fast and so often!!

Got to get all the stores right one says price is going up for the past three days. Then this one says is dropped how are we to believe. That why I don't believe only 1/10 of what tot write and say on the news.

Last year price was %2.575, this year, at least 50 cents more. does anyone think taxes will be cut 20%, or that social security will be upped 20%? I wonder what EXXON does with their record profits.. I think I'll get an electric bicycle to cover most of my local travelling. That way I can travel for about 20 cents a day, instead of $4.00 to $6.00 in gas.

Old news, this morning its up to just under $120/BBL. Gustav threatening, a possible Hanna behind that and 2 more tropical waves working their way across the Atlantic.

Keep up the pressure on Washington...Don't let your representatives get away with doing nothing.

Two days later oil is above $119 a barrel. Hopefully Hurricane Gustav doesn't cause any real damage and oil prices drop as fast as they went up.
