Once again the price makes purchasing this prohibitive.

Pickup-Truck Brands Join Honda Civic on Natural Gas Path. It's Not worth it to spend $11,000 more for a CNG option Pickup-Truck vehicle. An after market vehicle upgrade will be much cheaper for a Pickup-Truck CNG conversion. As more and more vehicles are built to use natural gas OR converted over to natural gas, more natural gas will be used and the price will go up, just like the morning sun. Don't expect natural gas to stay low for very long, the trend for all fuel prices is always up and up more! It does Not matter if you have to heat your house with it either, higher natural gas prices coming. An article on here said that less natural gas is being produced because there is NO profit to keep drilling and producing natural gas. Less CNG Supply, Higher NatGas prices coming! Big Oil and Big Gas exports fuel and natural gas to other countries that will pay more for it, much more than here. That Canadian pipeline will export that refined crude oil (fuel) and natural gas by way of the refineries on the Gulf Coast. There will be NO price reduction or cheaper prices for fuel or natural gas IN the US, so it does NOT matter how much crude oil or natural gas is produced. Honda has a CNG vehicle on the market for quite a while now – Honda Civic GX. Get a refill kit for the home natural gas pipeline and fill it up there. If you are traveling, know where your refill stations are and plan according. There are many online sites that have CNG refill stations located across the US for people that have to refill their CNG vehicles. Plan your trip with those stations on the route. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, vehicle manufactures Produce and the population ‘Drives’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! XII/XXII/MMXII!

Last week's article about CNG vehicles this was quite similar but it mentioned that a $11K vehicle modification was required. I don't see that here. It looks lke the Silverado CNG version includes that in the price.

Before they can have CNG cars and trucks they need recharging stations.

How many years will it take to get the $11,000 back. This will be based on mileage, mpg, higher cost of CNG servicing?

The guy who serviced my HVAC 30 years ago drove a truck that had the ability to switch from CNG to gasoline at the flip of a switch. I believe it cost him a lot less than $5,000 to do the conversion.

Great. The higher price will make people prefer these engines especially during these economic times. Great timing indeed.

Sounds like too much more than a base price vehicle, but still cheaper than an electric vehicle.
